Appen Butler Hill is looking to fill an immediate opening for a Vietnamese Linguist/Phonetician with computer experience related to writing text-manipulation scripts, and familiarity with new technologies and Unix operating system.
The position is part time, requiring approximately 5 hours per week, and will last until December 31st, 2012. This is a remote, global position.
Key Requirements:

Linguistic degree (BA)

Experience with phonetic transcription required

Experience with writing text-manipulation scripts

Familiarity with Unix operating system.
Tasks:

Review and correct the input/output of the tokenizer
-
Review and correct the input/output of the formatter

Review and correct word prons
-
Review and lexicalize out of vocabulary words Review, correct and add spoken forms to word names

Serve as language expert for research

Review and clean up lexicon-origin attributes

Phonetic transcription
