SCOPE

The Americans for the Arts Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to investigate and participate in the operations of the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America.  Through a combination of learning experiences, work projects, and group collaborations, interns become integral members of our team.  Program benefits include career support, member services, and a series of leadership discussions with Americans for the Arts staff.  Interns are expected to participate in daily activities, contribute skills and ideas, and produce excellent work, all the while preparing to become the next generation of arts, nonprofit, and cultural leaders.

The Arts Action Fund Intern will assist the Executive Director of the Arts Action Fund with producing marketing, social media, political and legislative programs, and building content for the ArtsActionFund.org website.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with producing online marketing and political campaigns
  • Membership recruitment through social media networks
  • Writing, videotaping, and editing filming content for the website
  • Research and survey federal candidate support of the arts
  • Help produce membership reports
  • Draft articles for the Arts Action Fund newsletter and marketing materials
  • Internet research
  • Assist with fundraising efforts for events or online
  • Complete timely “thank you” letters and other data entry projects
  • Execute other projects and assignments given by the Executive Director


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent college graduate
  • Excellent written and organization skills
  • Graphics, video, and editing skills
  • Proficiency and/or interest in learning basic website management skills
  • Some experience in campaigns or political activities
  • Strong interest in political and legislative issues impacting the arts and arts education
