NMS Labs is an ISO accredited independent provider of clinical and forensic toxicology, endocrinology and criminalistics laboratory services for the health care and forensic sciences communities.  Since 1970, we have built a reputation as a provider of innovative, first-to-market and hard-to-find testing that has evolved to a broad menu of over 2,500 laboratory tests.

We are seeking a Sr. Business Development Manager-Product Investigations for our Forensic Business Unit.  A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required, with a degree in the sciences or related business degree with relevant market experience preferred.  A minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development markets, related to laboratory diagnostics and/or FDA New Drug Development Approval Process is required.    The product investigation area of the forensic business units supports Pharmaceutical companies and medical diagnostics companies with independent laboratory investigations.  The investigations are designed to provide in vitro laboratory testing of new drug delivery systems, abuse deterrent formulations, pharmaceutical preparations, clinical and forensic laboratory instrumentation and reagents.  Laboratory support is also offered to support manufacturers’ internal in-house investigations of product performance, customer complaints, and litigation.  The successful candidate will have a background in laboratory sciences, exposure to the laboratory and pharmaceutical regulatory environments and/or Contract Research Organizations (CRO), where they have demonstrated business development success.

Familiarity with the FDA Drug Approval Process, as well as Laboratory Regulatory Environments (GLP, CLIA, etc.)   is preferred. The successful candidate will have had exposure to laboratory instrumentation such as GCMS, LCMS, and immunoassay methods.    Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office is required. The Sr. Manager must have the ability to evaluate and communicate revenue, profitability, and forecast future sales growth of their area of responsibility.  Experience in prospecting, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities is required.   The successful candidate must be able to work independently and conduct business within a home-based office, using company resources and facilities.  Physical demands include:

  • Ability to talk, hear, stand, reach with hands and arms, and use hands and fingers to manipulate instrument/equipment controls, computer keyboard, office equipment, objects, or tools
  • Moving from one work location to another to sit and stand, sometimes for extended periods of time
  • Vision (with correction) including color, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to travel independently via routine commercial providers: Air and land
  • Ability to operate own vehicle for use of travel to client meetings and to travel connections
  • Ability to obtain a valid passport with possibility of International Travel
  • Position is a home office base with frequent travel to NMS Labs Headquarters in Willow Grove, PA and client locations.
