The Adelphi University Department of Anthropology invites applicants for a North American archaeologist, trained in the four-field approach, with research and teaching interests inNew World prehistory and a focus in environmental archaeology.The applicant must be able to teach archaeology courses at all the undergraduate levels, assume responsibility for conducting archaeological fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and engage students in research projects.Ability to complement the graduate Environmental Studies Program with courses such as historic preservation, is preferred.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A Ph.D. is required, along with demonstrated excellence in teaching and a record of publication.The successful candidate will have an active research program and must be committed to involving students in research opportunities.The candidate is expected to develop and maintain a program of fundable research and publication.
