Responsibilities will include leading the way toward a “best in class” new product innovation process, resulting in a robust pipeline of new product platforms that will serve as launch pads for new products over the next 3-5 years for the US Soup business. These platforms will be built upon a detailed understanding of consumer attitudes and behaviors, target consumer segments and emerging sales channels. The platforms will be specific, yet sufficiently broad to support a range of possible new product ideas that could span multiple years of new product activity. While not confined to current business processes and technologies, the platforms must allow for new products to be launched within a reasonable reach of current capabilites over the next 3-5 years.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Works independently on majority of research projects and on most aspects of the research process (identifying priorities, planning, implementing, drawing conclusions, guiding business thinking); designs and scopes research for the innovation team.
2. 2. Leads and directs all aspects of standard market research approaches with minimal supervision; demonstrates initiative in finding alternative research approaches;
3. Based on understanding of the business and research, identifies salient learning's & presents results convincingly
4. Influences key (cross functional) stakeholders on data findings and project scope and brings a team to alignment; writes requests for proposal and briefs external agencies on study requirements
5. Takes research agency material and synthesizes it into a concise, relevant format
6. Provides leadership and direction to Senior Brand Managers and Directors on research implications
7. Qualitative Research: Works with team to determine objectives; recommends alternative approaches; recommends appropriate moderators to meet objectives; interprets consumer feedback; synthesizes consumer learning into new insights & implications
8. Quantitative Research: Manages the full range of projects with limited direct supervision; is conversant with all techniques; knows which techniques & suppliers to recommend to meet business objectives; directs supplier in all aspects of analysis; Makes recommendations on alternative design & approaches; synthesizes research results into implications & recommendations
Strategic Studies: Executes “simpler” studies in this category; understands advanced analytical techniques; participates as “team member” on more complex
