DUTIES:
- Open the meeting rooms to be used that day and turn on the lights
- Turn on the warming ovens and coffee machines for breakfast meals
- Review "function shett" for that day's events in order to organize for that day
- Review the times of breakfast, lunch and breaks
- Light the chaffing dishes and arrange all plates, utensils, etc.
- Set the tables if the meal is being eaten in the room
- Once meal is complete, clear all tables of dirty dishes
- Serve all coffee, tea and other beverages to guests during meals
- Respond to and assist with requests from guests for extra food, supplies, etc.
- If client requests extra food or beverages, must complete a "requisition form" for product and have convener sign for authorization to bill to event. Form is then given to Banquet Manager
- During a function, must track amount of bottled beverages consumes and record on "pop consumption form" for billing purposes. Form is then given to Banquet Manager
- Once function is complete, will assist Houseman with removing all dishes, linens, etc from the room. Linens are taken to laundry room. Bottles are rinses, arranged in boxes and taken to "bottle shed"
- Silverware is polished after cleaning
- Empty all coffee machines
- If dishwasher is not on duty, must load and run dishwasher
- All garbage is collected and removed from rooms, then taken to garbage area
- The linen shelves must be stocked with clean linens
- Dress buffet tables for display
- May assist with decorating tables for weddings or other special occasions
- Must be aware of any guests with special meals or requests and ensure the request is delivered accordingly
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum grade 12 education
- Knowledge of WHMIS
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
- Good communication skills
- Flexibility
