JOB SUMMARY:
Plan, organize, direct and control the activities of the Dartmouth Branch through subordinates, within company policies and directives set down by senior management. Overall responsible for Budget/financial targets to include, branch sales, profit margin, operational expenses, inventory control/turnover and achieve reduction targets of slow moving inventories. Branch manager is responsible to achieve our overall bottom line profit targets and grow our business, through diversification of our core group of products/services and focus towards total customer satisfaction. 
 
DUTIES REQUIRED TO ACCOMPLISH JOB:
·        Follow company procedures and policies as outlined by senior management.
·        Prepare and submit budgets and other financial data and estimates for review and approval. Review and manage JD Edwards operational reports, daily, weekly and monthly. Report any variances/discrepancies to Senior Management.
·        Determine organizational structure; define supervisory, technical functions and delegate responsibility to subordinate staff.
·        Search out new business opportunities for the Branch and expand existing customers. Investigate and develop new distribution opportunities to meet emerging trends and increase the Company’s market share overall.
·        Responsible for all marketing activities to include direct sales to major customers.
·        Review market analyses to determine customer needs, potential volume, price schedules, prepare contracts, and review quotations.
·        Coordinate marketing and distribution activities by conferring with subordinate staff.
·        Prepare and/or approve catalogues and advertising.
·        Maintain Safety standards in accordance to company policies.
·        Perform other related duties as assigned by the Senior Vice President, Marine Division.
 
EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
·      Grade 12 or equivalent. 
·      Undergraduate degree with emphasis on Marketing preferred
·      Principles of financial management. 
·      Supervisory skills. 
·      Negotiation skills. 
·      Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
·      Seven to ten years previous directly related work experience in a marine environment.
·      Practical experience required in the following areas:
o       Commercial Fishing
o       Marine Safety
o       Industrial Market Segments
