THE MISSION OF A SHOWROOM MANAGER (the Role):
 
The lululemon athletica Showroom Manager (SHM) is a leader that develops lululemon’s local brand awareness and community relations while running their own small business – the local showroom!
 
The SHM will be responsible for creating the community that will eventually support a full lululemon store and will also create the demand and excitement within the community. Make no mistake, managing a showroom concept is business /entrepreneurship training 101 as you will literally be building the brand in that city from the ground up.
 
The role will combine the life-altering experience of wearing black stretchy pants to work everyday while talking health, fitness and yoga to your community. In addition to this strong presence in the local community, you will be responsible for key aspects of store operations on a showroom scale including but not limited to, floor management, coaching and leading a team, payroll, merchandising, inventory management and sales management. Through this position, you will encourage and energize those you come into contact with, and be responsible for evolving in-store functions and the ultimate guest experience.
 
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SHOWROOM MANAGER (the Tasks):
 
  • Attend yoga and other fitness classes (for free!) to make community connections and ensure those connections drive business and traffic to the showroom
  • Lead team in creating out of the box, grassroots initiatives that connect with the local showroom community and builds awareness for the lululemon brand
  • Passionately leads and educates on the showroom floor a minimum of 18 hours weekly
  • Actively leads and coach staff in developing culturally, personally and professionally.  Understands and develops her/his pipeline. Is clear as to his/her employee’s strengths and goals and supports his/her staff in the pursuit of these goals
  • Fully accountable for and oversees the execution of all Showroom deliverables (product consolidations, scheduling, recruiting and on boarding, organizing trunk shows and community events etc.)
  • Proactively recruits to fill the showroom pipeline as needed
  • Takes a stand as an advocate for lululemon athletica’s values
  • Unpack boxes for inventory as required. Boxes can weigh 10 - 30 lbs
  • Under the direction of the Regional/District Manager, performs/completes other additional project, duties, and assignments as required and/or by request
 
SHOWROOM MANAGER MUST HAVE’S (the Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications):
 
  • Passion, knowledge and involvement in yoga, and/or other fitness, health or sports activities required. We expect you as a leader to be enrolled in participating in weekly fitness activities in and out of the store with the store team
  • 1-2 years of related prior experience in a combination of business, marketing &/ retail management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field
  • Passion for people, our product and inspiring others in and out of your community  
  • Strong sense of personal style and athletically minded
  • Proven entrepreneurial drive and experience
  • Excellent people person and business etiquette – ability to relate to and engage people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong self-starter, ability to work independently, multitask, self-manage time and priorities, ability to work with a team locally and remotely
  • Love of brainstorming, problem-solving, being creative and resourceful
  • Positive attitude and contagious enthusiasm for lululemon, community and people

A SHOWROOM MANAGER’S WORK WEEK (the Hours):
 
The SHM works 40 hours a week (5 days) consisting of a minimum of 18 hours per week managing/educating on the showroom floor; at least one day is a weekend day/night.
