Description

Our client has an immediate need for a seasoned HR Director to work in their Greenbelt, MD office:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for the company's hiring documents and processes, such as offer letters, consultant agreements, confidentiality and non-compete agreements.

· Responsible for in-processing of all employees. This providing oversight or conducting detailed orientation processes for all new hires and insuring that the employee is well versed with regard to company policies and procedures, benefits, and all specific requirements of the individual client contracts and task orders.

· Responsible for the management of employee relation issues including disciplinary actions terminations, counseling and associated documentation.

· Responsible for ensuring that credentialing documents and applications are submitted timely, error free and that licenses and degrees along with medical practice histories for physician and healthcare professionals are verified.

· Management and/or oversight of benefit vendors and all aspects of benefit administration including 401(K) Plan and Worker’s Compensation.

· Responsible for addressing all compliance issues including EEO, Affirmative Action and the filing of the 5500’s.

· Responsible for compensation issues including salary surveys, updating job descriptions as needed and monitoring salaries in the market to ensure that employees are properly compensated.

· Manage the performance review process in conjunction with input from Program Managers.

· Analyze human relations challenges and make effective recommendation to resolve challenges to management.

· Maintain the integrity of the Corporate Handbook to insure it is current and in legal compliance.

· Interpret corporate policies and procedures to employees. Ensure that employees receive continuous informal training on appropriate policies and procedures through frequent telephone contact, newsletters, etc.

· Provide backup recruiting as necessary to fill positions.

· Design and analyze current employment policies and implement upon approval.

· Track applicants.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:



The Director of Human Resources shall have the following competencies:

· Must have strong communication skills; this includes negotiation and presentation skills.

· Demonstrate strong planning, time management, and decision-making skills.

· Must demonstrate the ability to supervise and establish strategies for staff and colleagues to follow

· Must be extremely organized and able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment

· Must demonstrate strong general knowledge of HR/Personnel laws, regulations, practices and principles, pay, benefits, health and safety laws and regulations.

· Must demonstrate good leadership skills.

· Must be strong in MS Word, Excel and Power Point and able to learn other programs and systems such as HRIS systems.

· Must demonstrate the ability to maintain, in the strictest confidence, information received concerning confidential matters.

· Must be able to make recommendations to senior management on changes in policies and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate degree at the university level with a concentration in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Graduate education in Human Resources Management. Candidate may substitute 8 years of supervisory human resources work experience in lieu of stated educational requirements.

In addition to educational requirements, candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a senior human resource manager, and prefer a minimum of 2 years experience in a government contracting environment.
