Statistician/Biostatistician

Description
ATG is seeking a Statistician/Biostatistician to work in an energetic military medical research organization. Incumbent will work with senior epidemiologists and biostatisticians, physicians and military personnel, to design, execute, analyze, and report epidemiologic studies of military personnel. Position is in an energetic military medical research organization in suburban DC metro area. 
Primary responsibilities include:
Conduct data quality review, cleaning, merging, and extraction of relevant information from multiple large data sets using SAS, SQL, and other methods
Conduct statistical/epidemiologic analyses as requested, including sample size and power calculations, linear, logistic and proportional hazards regression
Provide general and statistical support to senior researchers
Develop quantitative epidemiological models using data from a variety of sources
Review reports and manuscripts to ensure that proper statistical methods were employed and correctly interpreted
Be prepared to develop independent research projects
 
Required:
Master’s degree in statistics or closely related field. Coursework in epidemiology, study design and analysis, and statistics (to include logistic regression methods). Expertise with SAS to include ability to conduct data manipulation and management. Training/experience with SQL. General familiarity with public health and preventive medicine principles. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills needed to keep research team informed of progress and changes in status of work. Must be able to work on multiple projects at the same time. Must be able to interpret and apply statistical techniques, and to explain methods and findings to non-statistician research team members.
 
Desired:
Experience in epidemiologic or public health research; database management; authorship or co-authorship of publications; knowledge of military structure and medical systems or military experience.
