SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

The product manager develops, implements and measures global product marketing programs for specific AMS products and markets.  Special emphasis is placed on initiative and the planning and sales promotion process for current products.  This individual proactively identifies and recommends product line extensions and improvements. Development of new product concepts and potential external acquisition proposals is a critical responsibility.  Key contacts include the broad spectrum of global AMS personnel and customers.  This position is responsible for practicing Quality System Manual procedures and complying with its requirements, and carrying out responsibilities as outlined in safety, health and environmental policies. Quality System Procedures (QSPs) that apply to all positions are noted in the AMS Employee Handbook.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION

 

Product Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting*

·          Creates, communicates and gains approval for annual marketing plan; implements and adjusts accordingly.

·          Contributes to strategic planning process; prepares annual and five year forecasts.

·          Monitors and adjusts forecast according to market conditions.

·          Develops and communicates global pricing plans.

·          Processes new product ideas delegated from NISC.

 

Market Data Research and Analysis; Technical Product and Market Knowledge*

·          Develops market research objectives and studies to support initiatives and product proposals.

·          Analyzes complex interrelated market data and draws conclusions regarding future opportunities.

·          Utilizes computer-based spreadsheet and statistical analysis of market trends.

·          Incorporates market research and data analysis into annual and strategic planning process.

·          Develops and modifies forecast based on market knowledge and analysis.

 

Leadership, Accountability and Team Building*

·          Provides initiative for sales and marketing plans.

·          Influences decision making process with initiative, advocacy, presence and credibility.

·          Is accountable for meeting schedules, forecasts, budgets and overall marketing objectives.

·          Provides consistent and objective market information for new product and acquisition teams.

·          Builds teamwork within department, divisions and corporation at all levels.

·          Acts as liaison with fields sales organization and sales management for market planning and implementation.

·          Acts as advocate for sales and marketing projects and plans.

 

Market Program Management and Sales Support

·          Designs and drives strategies and tactics to promote products and therapies.

·          Supports field with key promotional projects and materials.

·          Incorporates full mix of marketing tools to build positive customer awareness of products and therapies.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION

·          BA or BS degree

 

EXPERIENCE

·          3-5 years marketing experience in a healthcare field

·          Experience in marketing planning, budget management, product launches, team leadership

·          Awareness and working knowledge of market based trends in disease management and ongoing healthcare trends in global market place

·          Broad based working knowledge of product and clinical applications

·          Willing to travel (10-30%)

·          US and International experience desired

·          Medical device sales and/or marketing experience; strategic planning experience a plus

 

SKILLS

·          Communicates effectively with medical and research professionals, external and internal clients

·          Superior written and oral communication skills

·          Ability to work with others on project teams to solve problems, develop initiatives and complete requirements for achieving group objectives

·          Understands anatomical and physiological basis for product applications
