| Description | |
Requirements: Candidate shall have knowledge of automotive and medium/heavy and military truck systems and components, and conduct of Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) processes and procedures, and truck prognostic and diagnostic equipment and procedures. Candidates shall have knowledge of commercial vehicle and/or Army maintenance operations and technical/guidance documents and the use of vehicle technical manuals, Integrated Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and associated Army technical bulletins and documents. Also required is familiarity with ground vehicle Condition Based Maintenance (CBM)/Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) concepts and applications and vehicle CBM sensor applications and information analysis. Candidate should also be familiar with condition sensing equipment and capabilities and condition monitoring approaches and applications. Experience or background with condition sensing data capture, retrieval, and analysis would be beneficial. Duties: Research - Conduct database queries of Army Supply, Demand, and Logistics Information databases and other pertinent data sources and reports. Analyze information from multiple data, anecdotal, and analytical sources to identify high-frequency, high-cost, high-criticality Medium and Heavy Tactical Truck components for analytical prioritization and detailed investigation, and analyze supply and demand data trends, gather pertinent information on demand distributions, equipment densities and utilization rates, and appropriate information from equipment technical manuals, doctrinal publications, and other related documents. Analyze/review commercial item descriptions, military specifications/standards, purchase descriptions, engineering changes, test documentation (plans and reports), test indicator reports, failed item analysis reports, and corrective action plans. Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Investigations - Conduct FMEA engineering evaluations, determining the nature of primary failure modes and detailing likely effects, then recommend actions to reduce or preclude failures or to mitigate adverse effects. Identify candidate components for potential application of data-gathering sensors and associated data capture/analysis equipment/capability for monitoring real-time vehicle and equipment condition. | |
