SUMMARY
Manages, administers, and develops compensation programs for sales-based employee groups within the company’s overall compensation philosophy to pay for performance Supports variable compensation, including communicating, implementing, and training regarding the sales compensation plan(s). Ensures sales compensation goals and objectives are met and understood.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for sales compensation, including costing/analysis of sales compensation programs subject to standard and non-standard incentive pay programs.
Develops sales plans and oversees compliance. Works with the Sales and Finance departments to develop competitive sales compensation programs which drive performance and achievement of defined business goals and objectives. Works with sales leadership to update, modify, and redesign compensation programs on an on-going basis. Makes recommendations for program changes to ensure pay for performance and to drive achievement of sales targets.
Works with HR, sales leadership, sales communications, and sales operations to ensure sales compensation programs are effectively documented, communicated and managed.
Manages the development, documentation, communication, and operations of employee sales management plans, including incentive plans. Assists in the development of sales compensation strategies.
Maintains sales compensation documentation, including sales plan communication materials, incentive calculations, approvals for award payments, payment records. Works with HRIS, Payroll, and Commission Compensation to ensure timely payment and accurate record-keeping. Develops tools and processes to ensure accurate and timely tracking and payment of sales incentive compensation programs.
Builds strong working partnerships with stakeholder organizational team members.
Analyzes the effectiveness of sales compensation programs and sales productivity results. Reviews all sales representative revenue performance against payment and provides Senior Management with commentary and recommendations for improvement.
Researches sales compensation market data and trends and participates in surveys. Makes recommendations regarding sales compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, total compensation. Works with HR and Sales Management to set competitive compensation strategy within defined market to drive goals and objectives.
Communicates with the sales management team on issues and policies as well as responding to requests for information.
REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in business or Management
* Master’s degree and CCP certification highly preferred
* 5 – 10 years of related professional compensation experience in a corporate environment * Well versed in direct sales compensation plans, practices and procedures
* Understanding of Financials, Accounting, and Forecasting
* Experience with HR payroll systems
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work effectively in diverse groups * Demonstrated project management skills * High integrity and strong business ethics * Strong PC skills in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint | |
