Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator for Houston, Texas. 

-

This is a temporary position for approximately 4 months.  There is a possibility of it becoming long-term depending on both business needs and performance.  No relocation or per diem is provided.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

 

·         Safety

1.     Understand and comply with all Austin/Client safety policies and procedures

2.     Utilize and participate in Austin’s Accident Prevention Program including audits

3.     Participate in daily/weekly safety meetings

 

·         Quality

1.     Ensure that QA/QC related requirements are incorporated into cost estimates

 

·         Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.     Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, work scopes, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates

2.     Provide takeoffs of material quantities for input into quantity tracking/integrated project management software application and/or material pricing/purchase 

3.     Provide manhour estimates for quantity takeoffs using assigned labor units/rates and/or historical data

4.     Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for purposes such as planning, organizing, scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness

5.     Consult with engineer/clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues

 

·         Reporting/Coordination

1.     Generate material quantity takeoffs for material pricing/purchase

2.     Provide quantity takeoff input into quantity tracking/integrated project management software application

3.     Prepare itemized lists of material and labor requirements

 

·         General

1.     Able to write reports, business correspondence, and work scope documents

2.     Able to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients/customers

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. 5+ years of estimating experience in the industrial construction field (power plants, petrochemical plants, and/or refineries)
  2. Four year degree highly preferred.
  3. Proficient with all Microsoft Office Applications and a working knowledge of estimating and integrated project management computer software applications
  4. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US.
