Description

Job Purpose:
Overall responsibility for the financial accounting functions, including adherence to company accounting policies and procedures, and the fulfilment of all internal and external financial and operational reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, assisting and directing the preparation of reports summarizing and forecasting company business activity and financial position of areas of income, expenses and earnings, based on past, present and expected operations
  • Management of the finance team
  • Reviewing and assisting in the preparation of invoices to clients for our services
  • Reviewing and approving the extension of credit to clients for our services
  • Reviewing and approving payments to vendors and partners
  • Participating in the preparation of budgets
  • Preparing reports required by the regulatory and local tax agencies
  • Participating in audits of the company accounts and procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with company policy and legal regulation, including Sarbanes Oxley operational requirements
  • Maintaining the accounting and financial requirements of the business while balancing the changing needs of a fast paced, creative, client facing business

Professional and Technical Experience:

  • Accounting/finance degree with CPA preferred
  • 6-10 years experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably within an advertising , PR, marketing or design agency environment
  • Experience with Maconomy advantageous
  • Ability to build and manage a finance team while encouraging and facilitating a positive working environment
  • Strong desire to work in a creative and energetic environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Must have the ability to manage details in confidence and with a high level of trust
  • Ability to travel

  • Working alongside the GM, improving efficiencies and impacting US-wide business performance
  • Implementation of new working practices to underpin CFO’s drive to improve systems and efficiencies across the global network
  • Strength of working relationships – internally and within WPP
