We are seeking an accomplished biochemist, with a strong background in enzymology, enzyme kinetics, and protein design. They will provide scientific leadership and clarity to our biochemistry department, guiding the technical development of near term products, while developing the best practices and methods to ensure the success of enzyme development for future products. They are expected to work closely with the scientific leadership of the company, external collaborators, strategic marketing and executive management as well as our internal technical teams.

This individual will also assume a technical leadership role by driving the development and integration of enzymes, small molecule probe chemistry, and cutting edge analysis for current applications and future products based upon the unprecedented analytical power of Pacific Bioscience’s single molecule real-time biology platform. Requirements:
• A Ph.D. in Biochemistry or Physical/Analytical Chemistry
•10 or more years experience with enzyme development in the biotechnology industry
•An extensive background enzyme research required
•Previous work in bio-analytical instrumentation development is desirable
•A track record of significant technical contributions to successful products is critical
