We are seeking a talented Unix/SQL data specialist to join our highly motivated and innovative Data group. In this role, you’ll work as part of the team responsible for capturing and processing massive amounts of trade data for thousands of different tradable instruments, including stocks, bonds, futures contracts, commodities and more. The work performed by this group is critical to the success of Two Sigma’s global trading businesses. As a Unix/SQL data specialist, you’ll help with the many manual and programmatic steps, research, and coordination with others required by these complex processes. 

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree from a top school, experience writing UNIX/LINUX shell scripts and SQL server stored procedures, as well as intermediate programming skills and the ability to work well in an evolving and fast-paced environment.  Other essentials include excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication and analytical skills.  Although industry experience is a plus, we will also consider outstanding candidates from outside the financial industry who express interest.
