We are looking for a quantitative research associate to join our tight-knit equity alpha-forecasting team. Quantitative research associates at Two Sigma plan and coordinate the analytical and operational steps needed to establish a robust trading strategy with the help and support of an integrated team of professionals across the company. Responsibilities include: closely monitoring academic research (finance, accounting, and economics) and practitioner literature to create and refine investment ideas/strategies; manipulating, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets with the intent to conduct bias-free back-testing; developing intuitions and ideas for predicting equity returns; and communicating research progress and results on a regular basis.
Ideal candidates will have: a bachelor's or advanced degree in a quantitative subject from a top university; 1 to 3 years of experience in investment banking, equity research and/or quantitative investment research; and strong quantitative abilities and intermediate to strong programming skills (whether acquired academically or through hands-on experience). Some experience with corporate finance, accounting and trading, as well as prior exposure to European markets, is preferred.
Candidates must possess a strong interest in finance generally, and quantitative investing in particular, as well as a genuine interest in tackling large and complex datasets and projects. Successful candidates will be innately curious, resourceful, and well-organized and will have a demonstrable dedication to detail. Although industry experience is strongly preferred, we will also consider outstanding candidates looking to transition from post-doc or university-level faculty positions. |
