Description

Position Summary:
Responsible for supporting the implementation of project development strategies, primarily for low and mid rise suburban office buildings, as an extension of corporate goals and objectives
 

Primary Responsibilities:
1.      Project Management: provide design consultant oversight, monitor progress of projects, verify coordination between various consultants, maintain schedules, budgets and corporate standards.

 

2.      Approvals Management: oversee building permit process and related documents for all projects. Maintain tracking of the progress of permits. Work directly with the authority having jurisdiction or expediters.

 

3.      Construction: interface with CDC construction personnel to evaluate constructability issues, and maintain design integrity during construction.

 

4.      Asset Management: Support marketing and asset management activities as required, review proposed leases for compliance with development strategy.

 

5.      Legal: work with COPT legal team on easement and permitting issues.

 

 

 

 


Secondary Responsibilities:
1.      Maintain library of current project drawings.

 

2.      Assist in the refinement of corporate standards.

 

3.      Assist other departments with marketing, selling and/or leasing developed properties.

 

4.      Provide assistance to other departments to market, sell and/or lease developed properties.

 

5.      Act as a liaison with state, federal and local government representatives and agencies regarding the development activities of the company.

 

6.      Provide other job-related duties as assigned.


Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
1.      Experience with the design and/or development of buildings similar to low and mid rise suburban office buildings.

 

2.      Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in architecture or engineering or business.

 

3.      Minimum of five years experience practicing architecture, civil engineering or in development.

 

4.      Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet and applications.

 

5.      Able to read architectural/ engineering drawings.

 
Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
1.      Land/Building development experience.

 

2.      Strong written and verbal skills.

 

3.      AutoCad experience at an intermediate level.

 

4.      Knowledgeable about sustainable development.

 

5.      Financial analysis ability.

 

6.      LEED Accreditation

 

7.      Must be able to physically inspect buildings and large land holdings.
