Position Summary:
Under the guidance of management, provide leadership in the visual representation of COPT’s brands in all media, including electronic/digital, print, display, etc. Develop creative programs and design concepts that meet the business objectives of the organization and advance our brand strategy.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Design and produce materials in all mediums (print, digital, electronic, display, etc.) that effectively convey the marketing and communications messages of the company.
2. Develop the COPT brand image and create design templates to create a consistent brand image. Develop and maintain COPT’s style guide and brand standards.
3. Manage and oversee internal and external design and production resources to meet deadlines and achieve company goals. Prioritize and schedule work, both internally and externally, to meet company objectives and priorities, in coordination and consultation with manager. Provide art direction for outsourced design projects.
4. Provide creative support to manager, proposing creative solutions, brand strategies, theme ideas, naming conventions, project branding, etc. Participate in, and occasionally lead, brainstorming sessions for a variety of marketing communications activities.
5. Recommend and implement new technologies and applications to enhance our ability to deliver marketing and communications materials and messages to target audiences in the most effective way.
6. Partner with the Graphic Designer, maintain all COPT materials up to date; ensure all materials are updated as needed when data changes.
Secondary Reponsibilities:
1. Manage corporate photography needs, including scheduling building shoots, annual report photography, management portraits, etc. Hire photographer subject to budget and approval, assign photos, quality control, etc.
2. Edit and modify photos using image-editing software, such as Illustrator, Photoshop or other graphics programs.
3. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communication Arts, Visual Arts or other relevant discipline. Masters degree in Communication Arts or Visual Arts preferred. 2. Minimum 8-10 years of progressively responsible graphic design experience in both print and digital design. 3. Industry knowledge/experience preferred. 4. Intermediate PC skills using Microsoft Office applications ((Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and ability to learn company specific software. 5. Expert knowledge and skills with CS4, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator (all for the Mac). 6. Knowledge of HTML, DHTML preferred. 7. Ability to adapt to new or changing software programs. 8. Infrequent travel to out of state company offices/projects. 9. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; solid background in copywriting. 10. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. 11. Excellent project and time management skills. Deadline oriented, highly productive. Able to manage multiple projects from concept through completion. 12. Excellent attention to detail. 13. Strong working knowledge of brand development and the creative process. 14. Print and web design capabilities. 15. Passion, integrity and energy. 16. Copywriting experience preferred. | |
