Summary
The HR Business Partner Advisor (HR Advisor) aligns business objectives with employees within his/her designated business unit(s), and serves as a consultant to that unit’s leadership on Human Resource-related issues. The HR Advisor helps senior leaders assess, anticipate and manage HR-related issues on a proactive and as needed basis.

Communicating needs and coordinating services, the HR Advisor seeks to develop integrated solutions for his/her internal clients and formulates partnerships across the company to deliver value-added services that reflect the business objectives of the organization that he/she supports. The HR Advisor also serves as the business unit point person for the HR organization and maintains an effective level of business literacy about the unit’s function, employee base, business plans, culture and its competition in the industry.

Description of Responsibilities

  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with business unit leaders in order to gain support and achieve results
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with other HR groups to develop solutions, programs and policies that support the business unity
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required
  • Work with Compensation Manager to administer compensation programs
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
  • Conduct all recruitment efforts for assigned business units
  • Manage heavy volume of process and status documentation electronically and via paper related to employee and business unit status changes 
  • Ability to travel to other office locations on a monthly basis
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree or higher required
  • Minimum of 5 years HR experience as a generalist
  • Experience resolving complex employee relations issues
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational change, employee relations, diversity initiatives, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws
  • Relevant experience in the financial services industry is preferred
  • Experience drafting executive level employment agreements is a plus
  • A Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification is a plus
  • Strong project management skills with experience interacting with executives 
  • Excellent client management and business literacy skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple business units in multiple locations
  • Must be self directed, motivated and work well independently
