Basic Requirements: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent knowledge with 6 years of related professional experience. Advanced knowledge of video teleconferencing and audio visual technology trends. Ability to operate and maintain complex audio visual/video teleconferencing equipment. Ability to solve intellectual problems of appreciable variety and complexity using originality and ingenuity. Ability to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems. Ability to use appreciable latitude for independent judgment and action. Experience working in complex environments with a high degree of organizational effectiveness. Ability to successfully work in a team environment. Ability to develop relationships with co-workers and employees in other National Academies’ departments through effective communication. Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees.

Description

Information and Technology Services (ITS) provides information technology and service solutions to staff, study volunteers, and Academy members allowing The National Academies to deliver the most efficient and the highest-quality products to external customers.

 

The Multimedia Analyst serves as audio visual projects coordinator.  Provides technical oversight of all audio visual (AV) systems, including meeting room technology, videoconferencing, webcasts, and press conferences.  Sets up and tests video conferencing over Internet Protocol (IP).  Provides technical direction and support for meetings and to National Academies’ staff.  Monitors and assesses technology needs and researches and procures new technology (e.g., portable webcasting system, new cable television (CATV) system, and new video display content system).  Coordinates services and procures equipment needed for National Academies’ events when requirements cannot be met with in-house systems.  Manages vendor relationships for all AV services.  Trains staff and users on conference room systems.  Maintains and upgrades AV equipment inventory.  Troubleshoots problems on AV equipment.  Serves as technical liaison between Information Technology Services (ITS) and all National Academies’ groups on AV issues.  Assists in ITS/AV inventory management.
