Electric Power R&D Company Seeks Technical Leaders for Modeling and Standardization Task Force Research Projects (Charlotte, NC; Knoxville, TN or Palo Alto, CA)
 
The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is looking for a project manager with technical experience to lead and manage the modeling and standardization task force projects in its Power Delivery & Utilization Sector.
 
In This Position
 
Working at EPRI is truly a unique experience and EPRI project managers perform tasks outside of the “traditional” project management role. In this role, you will:
    • Lead research efforts in modeling and standardization task force
    • Manage research and development of technologies and products in modeling and standardization task force
    • Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget and spending
    • Organize and facilitate conferences and workshops to gather industry inputs
    • Collaborate with vendors, universities and interdepartmental technical staff
    • Conduct research and development directly in modeling areas 
    • Provide services for EPRI customers 
    • Develop innovative research ideas service opportunities that fit EPRI's mission
    • Communicate research strategies and results both written and verbally to EPRI Members

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a master’s or doctoral degree in power systems preferred.
  • Has strong technical expertise in modeling and standardization area.
  • Must have project management knowledge and skills, project management experience is preferred
  • Has good written and verbal communication skills 
  • Has good organizing and facilitating skills
  • Possesses good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Has good interpersonal skills
  • Utility experience or consulting experience is preferred
