Electric Power R&D Company Seeks Engineer/Scientist for Critical Power Project (Knoxville, TN)
 
The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is looking for a project engineer/scientist for the Energy Utilization area of its Power Delivery & Utilization Sector.
In This Position
In this role, you will:
  • Provide technical services for transmission, distribution, and end-use/low-voltage power systems simulation and modeling studies. 
  • Work with senior staff to complete modeling and simulation based power system studies.
  • Provide resources for managing existing and expected future workload for the Critical Power team.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds a technical or bachelors degree in engineering, sciences or equivalent work experience with related work experience in a technical or scientific area (a masters degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis in analysis and design of power systems is preferred).
  • Candidate should have at least academic experience conducting power systems analytical studies with an emphasis on modeling and simulation. 
  • Has experience with power flow and dynamic stability simulations and analysis of energy storage and renewable power systems. 
  • Has experience with PSS/E, MATLAB, PSCAD EMTDC or equivalent, and other power system simulation platforms.
  • Can effectively multitask and manage multiple projects, coordinate and facilitate technical engineering-related communications with peers and clients, and apply scientific and engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Has impeccable communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Government work must be a United States Citizen
