FTI has an opportunity for a motivated consultant in our legal technology practice. This person will work with existing and potential clients, understand their objectives and needs and deliver our technology and services. This individual must be detail-oriented and self-motivated, with exceptional communication and follow-up skills. A Consultant supports and executes specific tasks on a variety of projects in the Technology practice area as requested by Senior Consultants and Directors. Our practice primarily provides professional consulting services to law firms for coordinating document review and production using Ringtail document review software.
- Responsible for day to day activities of projects including interaction with other consultants, supervisors and client personnel
- Apply analytical skills and leverage existing methodologies to various client situations and practice disciplines
- Utilise logical reasoning skills to provide complete client services
- Work to ensure a quality product and delivery of all work within established timeframes
- Provide superior client service in demanding, deadline-driven situations
- Maintain professional image within the firm and project same to those outside the firm
- Conduct product demonstrations
- Assist develop and implement technology based consulting solutions
- Assist managing document repository databases
- Provide services around load files, production, import/export, and repository data management.
- Provide and execute on technical solutions for Litigation and Data Management projects
- Performing systems analyses, exporting, importing and analysing data from various software formats
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Exceptional interpersonal, organisational, communication and analytical skills
- Problem solver
- Knowledge of the electronic discovery process and software
- Strong client management skills and consultative abilities
- Must be a team player willing to work outside normal work hours on occasion
- Ability to travel as needed
- 1-3 years related experience or more in a law firm, professional services firm or similar environment
- Minumum bachelors debree
- Industry experience preferable
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, Windows XP and Microsoft Access
- Preferred skills in all aspects of data processing including, but not limited to, document management, electronic mail extraction, data migration, data conversion, data culling and filtering
- Working knowledge of Ringtail, Concordance, Summation or knowledge management systems/databases
- Ability to take initiative and understand tasks quickly with minimal supervision
- Ability to follow instructions thoroughly while paying attention to detail
- Customer-service oriented to meet client deadlines
- Network/Infrastructure understanding - ability to troubleshoot minor network issues, identify common browser problems
- Strong proficiency with Windows and related software, especially Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with Microsoft Access is a plus
- Experience with relational databases
- Ability to build and foster relationships with client contacts
- Maintain accurate timekeeping
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with other offices and departments in the company. Maintain uniformity of office procedures and consistent high quality of final work product
