OUR OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE (O&M) TEAM.

 

 

NORESCO’s Operations and Maintenance Group is responsible for all of the contractual maintenance on equipment once an energy upgrade has been completed and installed on projects for Colleges, Universities, K-12 Schools, Hospitals as well as State, Local and Federal Government buildings. 

 

We have an immediate need for a Controls Systems Specialist at our project site, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

 

As a Control Systems Specialist at NORESCO, you’ll have a great deal of interaction with customers as well as other NORESCO staff.  It is of utmost importance to possess professionals and trustworthiness as well as good listening and communication skills because you will be representing NORESCO at customer sites.  Teamwork is essential as every person on our team plays a vital role in the successful completion of every project we do.

 

 

In order to be successful in the role of Controls System Specialist at NORESCO, you will need to be able to complete the following tasks:

  • Project assignment is a multi-building government facility.

 

  • Interact with the facility maintenance personnel to assist in troubleshooting system problems

 

  • Perform/manage DDC system maintenance and repair functions.

 

 

  • Perform/manage pneumatic control maintenance and repair functions.

 

  • Assist in the annual steam trap inspections and maintenance and repair activities associated with the covered steam system components.

 

  • Daily review DDC system with the O&M site manager to identify building problems and request work orders for the problems found.

 

  • Perform periodic field device and sensor calibrations .

 

  • Review histories and trends and alarm logs to identify any problems.  Meet with the maintenance personnel to discuss operational issues.   

 

  •  Maintain daily logs of all activities

 

  • Oversee all sub-contracted maintenance.  Ensure all preventive maintenance tasks are being performed and coordinate all repairs that are needed.

 

  • Respond to emergencies 24/7.

 

  • Create and modify spreadsheets and word documents.

 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

In order to be considered for the role of Controls System Specialist, you will need to have the following minimum qualifications:

 

 

  •  Minimum 5 years of direct digital controls installation and programming (AutomatedLogic experience preferred)

 

  • Familiar with the operations, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of HVAC equipment to include central cooling plants, air handlers, boilers, pumping systems, heat exchangers etc.

 

  • Must live within 30-40 minutes of the Virginia Beach, Virginia area.

 

  • Strong understanding of interaction and interoperability of HVAC systems.

 

  • Strong background in computers and networking.

 

  • Computer experience.  Should be familiar with the basic Microsoft office products including Word, Excel, and Access.

 

  • Ability to review/analyze historical trend data for various equipment and detect problems.

 

  • Ability to organize and accurately maintain comprehensive daily logs.

 

  • Be able to manage service contractors to ensure proper maintenance is being performed.

 

  • After hours response may be required.

 

  • Speak and understand the English language fluently

 

  • Clean driving record

 

  • Clean criminal record (back ground check will be performed)

 

  • Ability to obtain Federal security clearances (to include Top Secret)

 

  • Good writing, editing, communications and interpersonal skills.
