Fly.com™ ( http://www.fly.com) is a travel search engine. Owned and operated as a division of Travelzoo, Fly.com was launched in the U.S. in February 2009, just after purchasing the url www.fly.com in January 2009 for US$1.8 million. About Fly.com
Fly.com enables users to compare the best flight options from airline and online travel agency Web sites, and then refers users to the airline or online travel agency of their choice. As a result, Fly.com is not a booking engine. Our goal is to deliver the fastest, easiest travel search experience on earth.
Early returns have been very positive. Fly.com is the fasted growing travel meta-search website in the U.S., achieving more than 1,000,000 searches in April 2009, only the third month of operations. In May, Fly.com’s continued growth earned it a spot in the Hitwise Top 100 U.S. travel search sites. It is already the third largest (of eight) meta search companies in the United States.
Reviews of the site have been overwhelmingly positive, as reviewers have latched onto Fly.com’s ease-of-use, clean interface, speed, and useful displays of fare information. Recently, the New York Times said: “A streamlined way to compare flights…features an extremely simple-looking interface to compare flight options from multiple services”.
