Position Summary
The Senior Statistician is an expert in measuring marketing effectiveness. The successful candidate will have a strong background providing statistical and advanced analytic solutions that address client’s business issues. The candidate should possess statistical experience with linear and non-linear regression models, mixed effects models, experimental design, and multi-variate data analysis techniques. The senior statistician SAS programming experience should include SAS/BASE and SAS/STAT. The candidate should have the ability to perform analysis on complex marketing systems, to work independently and to collaborate to break new ground and develop new techniques. The senior Statistician should have the ability to develop client ready deliverables and uncover the actionable insight that lies within the data.
Work Experience
- 5+ yrs overall experience preferred including:
- Two years experience in statistical modeling focused on business issues.
- Ability to develop advanced analytic solutions that directly address ad-hoc business issues.
- Ability to execute analytic solutions and translate the results into client friendly deliverables.
- Ability to contribute to new analytic solutions and continually refine the advanced analytic toolkit.
- Experience working with clients to solve pressing business issues and being a trusted resource.
- Experience in an interactive work environment. It could be a media company, planning agency, integrated marketing agency, or media & entertainment property.
- Understands the external factors that influence marketing measurement marketplace and the interrelation between studies. Experience evaluating statistical software and developing custom modeling plans. Formulates basic strategic insights (i.e., what the data is telling us, and some basic insights).
- Ability to collaborate with other statisticians, other members of the Marketing Intelligence team and across other disciplines. Provide guidance and direction to statisticians as well as contributes statistical expertise to the marketing intelligence team and the organization overall.
- Ability to multi-task and support multiple deliverables across the team. Determines individual project timelines, and rapidly changing project prioritization.
- Personable and very poised – ability to interface with clients occasionally.
- Strong writing and presentation skills are a plus.
Education
- MS in statistics, econometrics, or quantitative science (BS will be considered with commensurate professional experience).
