Position Summary

The Executive Director of Delivery Management (PMO lead) is responsible for ensuring that the delivery of the full range of digital work we do on the account, from complex web development projects to OLA, mobile and signage are consistently ‘on-track’ across a very large account. He/she will be responsible for reviewing the existing project lifecycle processes, making recommendations for improvements, and implementing process changes. The ED DM will be deeply involved in the oversight of all key projects, including assisting with scoping and estimation, reviewing deliverables and documentation, identifying risks, coming up with risk mitigation strategies, and monitoring project launch and client acceptance.

Responsibilities include representing and communicating Organic’s project management philosophy, methodology and capabilities to current and potential clients, as well as across all departments, business units and service lines. Additionally, The Executive Director, Delivery Management (PMO) is responsible for developing and executing delivery and financial strategies with account core team members to meet account P&L goals set by the Company. The Executive Director of Delivery Management should be a highly conceptual team leader who is constructive, charismatic and committed to a vision.

Skills/Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that project delivery is consistent and successful across the company.
  • Significant experience working on very large accounts (over $20 mm / year in fees)
  • Strong project management skills and experience, including:
    • Budget/schedule development and management/oversight
    • Resource management and forecasting
    • Task and delivery management
    • Risk identification and management
    • Leadership, teambuilding, and team management
  • Defines best practices and new processes and work closely with project team members across offices and disciplines to ensure all projects follow process improvements.
  • Ability to define solutions that will generate measurable results for the client.
  • Review project deliverables and documentation at a detailed level to assess level of quality. Work with artifact authors and developers to suggest areas of improvement.
  • Create systems to identify projects that become at-risk, and define procedures to take corrective actions early in the project lifecycle.
  • Must be able to work with remote teams.
  • Excellent understanding of the Internet including industry trends, key players, terminology and overall economics of the marketplace.
  • Excellent negotiation experience (especially contract negotiations) with both clients and partners.
  • Builds strong relationships within the client’s organization through quality work and thought leadership.
  • Defines and manages team expectations regarding scope of work and the financial impact of delivery.
  • Is detail-oriented, analytical, a problem solver and able to work on multiple assignments concurrently
  • Ensures client approvals and sign-offs on all major deliverables.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning and oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills (lead client meetings with senior personnel; create and deliver persuasive presentations, etc.).
  • Experience with internet development and/or software and system development.
  • Leads and motivates large multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Manages project/program P&L (which requires a comprehensive understanding of financial and operational metrics and levels).
  • Some travel required.

 

Education/Work Experience
  • 15+ yrs overall experience preferred including:
    • 8+ yrs experience in a similar role. (Web development firm, IT consulting firm, strategy consulting firm, or agency environment).
    • 3+ yrs experience effectively leading and motivating large multi-disciplinary project teams.
    • 3+ yrs experience managing client P&L (which requires a comprehensive understanding of financial and operational metrics and levers).
    • 5+ yrs experience in building strong relationships within client organizations through quality work and thought leadership.
    • 5+ yrs experience managing people, tasks, and clients in a matrix environment.
    • 5+ yrs experience with process definition and the ability to define solutions that will generate measurable results for the client.
  • Excellent negotiation experience (especially contract negotiations) with both clients and partners.
  • PMI certification a plus.
  • Bachelors/MBA degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
