Head of Biology

(www.supergen.com) brings together high tech and biotech to search for new, more effective drugs for the treatment of cancer.  We are looking for a motivated, dedicated professional who wants to combine their skills with our uniquely talented team to change the current paradigm of drug discovery and development.  This candidate will be working in our Salt Lake City, Utah location.

 The head of discovery biology is responsible for directing selection of therapeutic cancer targets as well as in vitro and in vivo screening assays to support drug discovery.  He or she will also be very involved in supporting the advancement of SuperGen’s CLIMB™ discovery technology as well as directing the discovery biology groups.  This position has high visibility both internally as well as externally and has high potential for career advancement.  This position requires an individual to be extremely creative and willing to adopt innovative approaches to drug discovery as well as being receptive to adopting new technology.

Primary Responsibilities:

·        Select therapeutic targets in the oncology space

·        Interpret complex data and develop hypotheses for screening novel drugs

·        Integrate target selection and SAR into computational platform

·        Manage and direct biology function in discovery

·        Communicate strategy and vision both internally and externally

·        Maintain up to date understanding of cancer biology and emerging biological targets

Education:

This position requires a PhD. in molecular biology or other related field, with 10 – 15 years industry related experience.
