Job Summary
This is a freelance, offsite writing opportunity. The Motley Fool (www.fool.com) is dedicated to providing daily stock commentary. Our Investment Writers are responsible for researching and writing Fool.com content, with a particular focus on stock/company analysis. The writer will balance factual analysis with the Foolish mission of education, amusement, and enrichment.
Relevant content includes reporting and analyzing quarterly earnings and other newsworthy events; in-depth analysis of a particular company and/or sector; and analytical coverage of other investing or macroeconomic issues. In addition, the Investment Writer will work with the rest of the staff in a team environment to help develop and implement new market-related content. The Investment Writer must be able to take complex investing issues and translate them to our audience through clear language with a touch of humor, fun, and pizzazz when appropriate (and that's most of the time).

Primary Responsibilities/Objectives:
  • Writes articles that are accessible, educational, relevant, and of interest to Motley Fool readers, customers, and members of the Fool community.
  • Develops, executes, and constantly looks to improve Fool analytical content.
  • Continually seeks to increase knowledge of stock analysis.
  • Assists in the development, research, writing, and analysis of stocks and related sectors.
  • Follows stock market to determine appropriate coverage of most relevant companies and news, along with other team members.
  • Participates in the Fool's community via discussion boards, CAPS, and the article comments feature to support the Fool's content and interact with our readers.
  • Shares burritos with Fool editors when appropriate.
