Position Summary:

In this critical and fulfilling role as a Registered Nurse, you will provide patient care in an acute setting, reporting to physicians any changes in patient’s condition, with an emphasis on assessment, illness prevention and health care management. The Registered Nurse must be able to respond quickly to changes in condition and assist physicians in both ICU and other departments. This self starter will also act as liaison between patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Knowledge of medications and correct administration, reducing the potential for medication errors
· Able to perform head-to-toe assessment on all patients, formulate an individualized plan of care and evaluate plan daily for effectiveness
· Knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identify dysrhythmias, and provide appropriate treatment
· Able to assess and care for patients in ICU
· Able to accurately assess pain and utilize appropriate pain management techniques
· Implement and maintain established policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, and environmental and infection control. Interpret these to the physician, resident, family members, and public, as appropriate.
· Communicate with charge nurse, coworkers and physicians, consulting other departments to provide an interdisciplinary approach to patients' needs
· Maintain documentation that meets current standards and policies.
· Assist the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
· Meet with and solicit advice from the Medical Director, attending physicians, Director of Nursing Services, and nursing staff concerning the care of residents.
· Maintain an effective, friendly working relationship with health professionals, physicians, consultants, and family members involved.
Requirements
· Must have 1 year of critical care, telemetry or medical surgical nursing experience in a Hospital.
· Must complete ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
· Prefer successful completion of critical care course and one or more years of recent critical care experience.
· Candidate must be flexible, organized and function well in stressful situations.
· Current state RN License required along with current BCLS certification.
· Must successfully complete background check and drug screen.
