Engineering Manager – Vehicle Test and Validation

The Engineering Manager – Vehicle Test and Validation is responsible for the planning and execution of vehicle build, test and evaluation activities, in support of a future model year vehicle program.  This position reports to the Director of Chassis and Vehicle Integration Engineering.

Responsibilities

·         Establish and lead a 5-10 person vehicle build and test team.

·         Lead the creation of a comprehensive vehicle build, test and validation plan

·         Establish and lead the execution of vehicle build activities.

·         Establish and lead the execution of vehicle-level development and validation testing required to ensure durability, reliability and homologation for all markets.

·         Oversee and maintain the engineering test vehicle fleet.

·         Support vehicle integration engineering team meetings.

Skills and Qualifications

·         BS in electrical or mechanical engineering (MS preferred)

·         Ten years minimum experience in automotive engineering

·         Three years minimum experience leading vehicle build, test and validation activities, including structural durability testing

·         Three years minimum supervisory experience

·         Knowledge of vehicle and system duty cycle development (preferred)

·         Knowledge of durability and impact test methods and procedures (preferred)

·         Ability to work in diverse and co-located teams

·         Excellent communication skills

·          Demonstrated ability to manage difficult projects with tight financial and timing constraints
