Position Overview

Vibrant is seeking 2 Sr. Java Engineers with 5+ years Java development experience that have a deep understanding of the language and core Java API’s. They must be an excellent programmer who has a passion for technology. This person will be working on the IntelliTXT advertising platform which serves billions of pages to over 120 million unique users a month. The Sr. Java Developers will interact with both technical and commercial team members to help understand requirements and develop further ideas. Our engineers are actively encouraged to propose new ideas and work with relevant departments across the company to deliver projects.   

We are looking for someone that:
• has strong Java development skills

• can make an impact by creating, adding or improving functionality in either new or existing products

• can take a hands-on approach to identifying and optimizing existing code

• can investigate, manage, and resolve bugs and integration issues

• understands and has a strong appreciation for the entire project life cycle

You’ll need these skills below to really "ROCK" in this role:
• 5+ years Java development  

• Excellent core J2SE 6 programming ability (EJB, Swing experience not relevant)

• Extensive experience of writing JSP’s and Servlets

• Experience of developing fast, highly transactional, multi-threaded applications

• Good working knowledge of (D)HTML and Javascript

• Good knowledge of SQL (MySQL)

• Code optimization and profiling tools (eg. JProfiler)

• JUnit testing framework

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Text analysis / semantic processing, experience with the Eclipse IDE, subversion, selenium and Linux experience preferred but not a requirement
