Position performs non-destructive examinations (NDE) on casting and manufactured products as required by engineering specifications and code requirements; reviews sub-contractors procedure, radiographic film, and reports; and maintains department records and procedures for current code requirements. Position functions independently with occasional guidance from the Quality Control Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
|
|
· Performs non-destructive testing and examination per work order requirements
|
|
· Performs dimensional and visual inspection under the quality auditing program
|
|
· Works with coworkers during manufacturing process to help assure an acceptable product related to NDE testing
|
|
· Writes and revises NDE procedures and forms
|
|
· Performs calibration on NDE instruments
|
|
· Assists in bids and costs for non-destructive testing and examination
|
|
· Reads and interprets x-ray film from suppliers
|
|
· Maintains radiation safety program
|
|
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
|
|
· Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.
|
|
· Performs other duties as necessary

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· None
QUALIFICATIONS:
· AWS-QC1 licensed welding inspector
· Graduate of ASNT approved college (preferred)
· Certified in accordance with SNT-TC-1A Level llI in MT, PT, UT, VT
· Seven years’ experience in NDE activities and manufacturing knowledge
· Computer knowledge of Microsoft applications
· Ability to read blueprints
· Versatile in all aspects of inspection techniques
· Working knowledge of ASME, AWS and relative codes
· Good written and oral communication and organizational skills
· Good math and shop trigonometry skills
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
