ERM seeks a Senior Upstream Oil and Gas Compliance Assurance Seller/Doer to oversee safety projects primarily for client refinery sites in the Greater New Orleans

 

  • Salary Based on experience

 Operational Responsibility: 
·Support and grow corporate and facility compliance service work, with a focus on the
Southern US. Services include corporate, business unit and facility support of sustainable
EHS compliance. Activities include auditing, management systems, health and safety,
security, process safety, social/supply chain services, permitting and compliance support.
Serve as a key member of the regional Compliance Assurance team to drive double-digit
profitable growth of ERM’s compliance assurance services business across the Southern
US.
·Fully accountable to Company for successfully selling to and consulting with clients
regarding compliance assurance projects for ERM’s industrial clients, particularly those
 

 Position responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting/evaluating work operations, production methods, and engineering controls of Health & Safety conditions;
  • Reviewing/developing/maintaining Process Safety Management policies and procedures compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Maintaining required records for OSHA compliance;
  • Developing and revising safety policies and procedures;
  • Evaluating safety performance related to standards;
  • Developing "Safety Alerts" outlining lessons learned from events at the facility;
  • Conducting field safety audits/reviews; and
  • Providing technical safety support for Units
  • Establish and grow business in the local area market
  • Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand the company’s profile in the regional environmental consulting market
  • Recruit, hire manage, mentor, and maintain billability for personnel in the Southwestern Louisiana office
  • Work with other office leaders and senior management to deepen relationships with Key Clients and establish new client relationships that result in significant net revenues ($750K+ annually)
  • Hands-on project management and oversight
  • Proposal development and presentation delivery/preparation to win project work with new and existing clients; and
  • Leadership in establishing, mentoring, and maintaining billability


Requirements:

  • BS Degree (MSc preferred) in Chemical/Mechanical/Environmental/Civil Engineering or Environmental Science
  • PE/PG registration in Louisiana preferred
  • 10+ years of health and safety or Process Safety Management experience in a refinery environment, including audits, compliance evaluation, policy development and reporting.
  • Expertise in health and safety requirements/regulations applicable to the chemical/petrochemical industry.
  • Positive reputation within the local legal and regulatory communities.
  • Proven experience in business development and client relations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects over $250,000 and business portfolios over $1,000,000
  • Established relationships with regulatory authorities and large-scale, private sector industrial companies (potential clients) in Louisiana
  • Knowledgeable of issues within key client sectors, including oil and gas, refining, chemical and petrochemical, and high tech.
  • Prior experience starting and growing a successful environmental consulting office strongly preferred
  • Must possess solid experience assisting substantial clients to develop strategic sustainable compliance programs. Typical experience should include:
      • Developing and executing corporate compliance, auditing and management system strategies
      • Advising corporate, business unit and facility level clients on the applicability of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and cost-effective responses to their mandates
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to build, coach, and mentor collaborative teams
  • High degree of technical competence and broad knowledge of federal and state regulations.
