Position Summary:
The primary objective for the Global Health Council website is to serve as the world’s premiere information portal for resources associated with addressing issues in global health.
The intern will research accurate and relevant news and post jobs and resources to the website in a timely manner.
Active engagement in exploring and developing new sources of information, following leads, exploring and developing links, subscribing to a variety of list serves and articulating diverse content to the website is required.
This position offers opportunities to immerse oneself in diverse issues of global health, and to be actively engaged in helping to positively affect equitable outcomes in the field of global health.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Research and post news articles daily (includes news from other sources such as newspapers, list serves and from our membership organizations).
· Research and posting information sources on a regular basis.
· Research and posting upcoming events on a regular basis.
· Posting jobs available, jobs wanted and volunteer opportunities on a regular basis.
Other Duties:
· Other projects as assigned by website department staff.
· Assist publications and website department staff with other duties.
· Attend meetings as required.
Qualifications:
· Excellent proofreading and editing skills; detail-oriented.
· Demonstrated competency in conducting research via the internet.
· Knowledge of global health issues is a plus.
· Competence in e-mail, word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications. Preference for Microsoft Office Products. Experience with Windows operating systems.
· Ability to take initiative, and work under pressure with limited supervision.
· Solid organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
· Able to sit in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
· Basic HTML knowledge a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning essential.

Material Submission Deadlines:
- Fall semester deadline:

- Summer deadline:
- April 15 for internship commencement on June 1
- Stipend: The Global Health Council offers its interns a stipend of $200/month. Depending upon when the internship commences, pro-rated pay may occur. The Council does not provide any other benefits to its interns (i.e. sick time, vacation time, health insurance
