Position Available: Fellow/Senior Fellow (Policy Research and Analysis)
Resources for the Future (RFF) is a nonprofit, non-advocacy research organization whose mission is to improve public policy through rigorous research and analysis in economics and related fields. RFF addresses a wide variety of environmental, natural resource, energy, and public health issues, both domestically and internationally. Established in 1952, the organization is committed to scholarly excellence and practical policy contributions.
RFF seeks talented researchers with a commitment to developing knowledge on a wide range of topics relevant to policymakers and stakeholders. This opening for a career-track research fellow position requires a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a related field (such as public policy, risk and decision analysis, political science, law, or environmental science). Candidates with multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
We are interested in candidates who will apply their disciplinary expertise to important policy issues. We will consider applicants at all stages of their careers. Mid-career or senior candidates with a master’s degree, coupled with experience that demonstrates the ability to build an independent research agenda, will be considered. The position requires a commitment to careful and impartial research, excellent writing and analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with academic researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders. Subject matter knowledge is required in one or more policy areas that relate to the mission of RFF.
For new Ph.D.’s, completion of dissertation by September 1, 2010 is required. RFF offers a competitive salary, excellent fringe benefits, and a collegial work atmosphere. RFF’s research career track closely parallels the academic tenure system. The preferred start date is September, 2010.
